Assalamu Alaikum, everyone! Ramadan Mubarak to you all!
It’s Shahena, back with another quick and wholesome recipe that’s perfect for Iftar.
Today, I’m sharing one of my family’s favourite sweet treats…Stuffed Dates with Almond Butter.
It’s naturally sweet, packed with goodness, and takes just minutes to prepare.
Dates are a Ramadan staple, and for good reason…they’re not only traditional but also incredibly nutritious. They’re a great source of energy, fibre, and natural sugars, making them the perfect way to break your fast.
But let’s be honest, sometimes plain dates can feel a little… well, plain. That’s where this recipe comes in! By stuffing them with creamy almond butter and a sprinkle of nuts or seeds, you get a delicious, healthy treat that feels indulgent but is actually really good for you.
Stuffed Dates with Almond Butter Recipe

Ingredients (Makes 10-12 stuffed dates)
- 10-12 Medjool dates (they’re the big, juicy ones!)
- 3-4 tbsp almond butter (or any nut butter you like)
- A handful of chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, or walnuts work beautifully)
- A sprinkle of desiccated coconut (optional, but adds a lovely texture)
- A drizzle of honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- A pinch of sea salt (optional, but it really brings out the flavours)
Method
- Prep the dates:
Carefully slit each date lengthwise and remove the pit. Be gentle so you don’t split them all the way through – you want to create a little pocket for the filling. - Stuff with almond butter:
Using a small spoon or knife, fill each date with a generous dollop of almond butter. Don’t be shy – the creamier, the better! - Add the toppings:
Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the almond butter, pressing them gently so they stick. If you’re feeling fancy, add a sprinkle of desiccated coconut for a bit of extra texture. - Finish with a drizzle:
For a touch of extra sweetness, drizzle a little honey over the top. If you like a sweet-and-salty combo, add a tiny pinch of sea salt – it really enhances the flavours! - Serve and enjoy:
Arrange the stuffed dates on a plate and serve immediately. They’re perfect as a quick Iftar treat or even as a dessert after your meal.
